Welcome to Timber Lakes Volunteer Fire Department's new website. I hope you find it provides you with current information about what’s going on with TLVFD.
The Timber Lakes VFD was founded in 1969, as an ALL volunteer fire department and was running the only ambulance for the county. Over the last 49 years the TLVFD has maintained the distinction as an ALL volunteer fire department until recently.
Timber Lakes VFD serves over 6000 residents in a 3sq mile area known as the Montgomery County Emergency Service District #14, who contracts with and funds the Timber Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Our area has grown very fast over the last several years with new commercial developments throughout the district. To keep up with the increasing call volume TLVFD hired a part-time duty crew staff and implemented a volunteer compensation program beginning in 2018 to ensure that the fire station remains staffed 24/7 to answer all calls for service without delay. This was made possible by the 1% sales and use tax that you, our residents voted for.
As always I encourage anyone to get involved with their community, whether it be with the Volunteer Fire Department, HOA, Neighbor Hood Block Watch or the Water Board; there is a spot for everyone to put in a helping hand.
